I've never had anything but good results with any ASUS equipment I've ever used. I had to RMA 1 board back to them. Had the new one in three days.
I'll be getting the ASUS X800 XT Platinum when it becomes available. I used to be an nVidia only guy. I suppose the 6800 might be better(faster) in the future, when the drivers are updated, but I can't get past the way nVidia mucks with their drivers to optimize some games, calling it a fair comparison.
I'm a die hard, I like my 5900U and I have no qualms with it or with it's performance. I can't brag that "I can frag you just as easy with the 5900U as I can with a 9800XT" but that's just because I'm cannon fodder in FPS games. I can say though that I can die just as quick with either card in there.
Cliff Forster is best described as "one of the guys." He wears his sometimes unpopular opinions proudly, stands up for what he believes in, and loves to dig in and engage in a good ol' verbal donnybrook.
He covers industry news for Icrontic, and writes opinion pieces in the grand tradition of the old guy in your neighborhood when you were a kid... you know, the one who shook his newspaper at you and yelled at you to get off his lawn? Yeah, that's our Cliff.
