G4TechTV, a cable network devoted to video games and cutting edge technology has decided to drop the “TechTV” from it’s identity. The new incarnation of the network will be known as “G4 – Video Game Television” and was announced at the Television Critics Association press tour by CEO, Charles Hirschhorn.
In addition to the name change, 2 new shows were announced for the 2005 lineup. First up, “Formula D” which will be a show based on the auto sport and culture known as Drift Racing in which drivers are judged on control and style while sliding over the pavement, rather than speed. Also announced “Girls Gone Wired” which will showcase beautiful women from the real and video game worlds and will be hosted by comedian Hal Sparks beginning in May.
It was pitiful merger in the first place. Bring back ZDTV! -KF
