Within a month of the last price cut, Dell is again trying to blitz the market with a price reduction on mobile and desktop units.

Their most noteable price cuts being Core Duo systems of both varieties. This time round the price cuts are pretty dramatic with the Inspiron E1505 being reduced to almost half. Some of their desktop models are ridiculously low, at $349.

While many can argue about the merits of undercutting costs to sell more, and how it impacts other PC retailers, the majority of customers will see only the price tag. And sometimes that is all that matters, in the continuing trend of PCs slowly becoming a commodity instead of a luxury.

  1. I pulled the trigger on the new XPS laptop today actually. I had the gen 2, but returned it cause of a really bad screen. Hopefully that's fixed.
