The Inquirer reports that Nvidia is making preparations to compete with Intel and AMD in the combined CPU/GPU market. Estimations place the company’s entry into this market sometime in 2008. The chip would utilize a 45-nanometer process design.

This is what OEMs want in 2008. Sixty-five or 45 nanometre processes make this possible and AMD and Intel are going to do it, so Nvidia doesn’t have much choice.

It seems Nvidia might remain a feisty player in the years to come, unless someone fanatically swallows it.

  2. Then it could be called nTel.

  3. ...chip folk are beaving away...

That must be quite a sight.

  4. I tired to pry more info on this.... and all I could get is....

    Umm... "silence" .....
  5. I also read a blurb at The Inq about M$ looking into getting a processor design team together too. That's just freaking scary, that!

  6. An nVidia processor, huh. ****ing weird. I guess it's natural progression, but...

  7. If it folds well I'll buy it. I don't care who makes it...Microsoft, Intel, AMD, nVidia or hell, Sony!

Lol... how would that work for F@H? we need a Nvidia 4x4 system so one dual core can feed the GPU while the other feeds itself? or what if you could have SLI with one chip on the CPU die and the other in the PCI-E slot? the world of PC's is going to change.
