Sony & MS both say “Get Wii”

First, MS veep Peter Moore said to make Wii your second console after the XBox 360. Now, Sony is saying the same thing… substituting “360″ with “PS3″, of course.

Both Moore’s and Harrison’s comments, aside from being amusing mirror images of each other, assume that simply buying a Wii by itself is not an option. Why exactly is this so? The console, while not having the graphical and computational muscle of its more expensive siblings, will have all types of games available for it, including platformers, 3D shooters, sports games, and the like. Both Microsoft and Sony seem to be chasing the mythical “home entertainment center” market, where a gaming console isn’t merely a games machine but also plays your music and videos, connects to the Internet, does your laundry, and so on.

  1. thats dumb, cause Wii also has more features then just Gameplaying.

Web Browsing for example, it has already been officially anounced that you will be able to browse the web with a web browser specifically designed for Wii by Opera.

I think i am just going to get a wii, maybe a PS3 or 360 after a while, but just maybe

  2. We should all get Wii

  3. I really might actually get Wii over PS3

  4. The only thing that makes sense to me is get a Wii and a 360 for the same as a top PS3. I just think the PS3 costs too much and I haven't seen anything out of it that makes it stand out other than,

    A) The usual cool Japanese games they will get that 360 won't
    B) The Blu-Ray drive.... But then 360 has the add-on and who knows how much that will cost.

Now buying a Wii and a PS3 seems pretty crazy to me. $200 diff is pretty decent in my mind.
