Add a browser to any game with Rogue

Yeah, you could run two monitors. Yeah, you could alt-tab. Yeah, you could run everything in windowed mode. Or you can cut to the chase and just add an Adobe AIR and Safari WebKit-based browser to any game in your arsenal. The voodoo wizards over at GotGame found the gumption to make it happen.

We’re pretty confident in saying that this is completely badass.

  1. This should of been done years ago.

For people who don't run there game in window much - which dare I say is most gamers - this is going to be huge.

I'd like to see the mem/cpu usage however

    cheers

  2. I am going to have to agree with the awesomeness.

  3. holy crap, holy crap holy crap.

This is the one thing I've been saying for MONTHS that Steam needs. This makes me very, very happy.

We must benchmark this for great justice.

  4. well, preliminary test didn't go so well. It crashed Oblivion twice, and though I got it to work with Flatout 2 I was averaging around 25-30 FPS. This game is almost 3 years old, my system doesn't even flinch during FarCry2, and gets about 25 FPS on Crysis with very high settings.

    Something aint right about that.

But I don't have time to tweak it, I'm sure something can be adjusted. I'll get back to it after work.

  5. *update.

I went ahead and did a quick and dirty benchmark showing CPU/mem usage, process dispaly, and FPS using fraps. I'll post soon when I get to an internet connection, have to get on the road to south bend now.

  6. I ran it and had no issues with it in RA3, Spore, UT2k3 or Supreme Commander.

  7. Annnnd was it very nice??? Are you going to keep using it? Details!

  8. No, I'm not going to keep using it, but not because it's bad or anything. My computer is robust enough that I play all my games in windowed mode for quick alt-tabbing. It's just the way I've come to use my PC, and I'm comfortable with that workflow.

This is a really neat product, though.

  9. UPSLynx did some benchmarks and the results are not-so-good.

  10. I was also unable to run Left 4 Dead and Rogue at the same time. Left 4 Dead crashed as soon as a level loaded.
