ati_logoATI released new Catalyst drivers today. You can get Catalyst 9.6 for XP, Vista and Windows 7 here.

According to AMD’s Ian McNaughton, there are improvements to be had. How delightful.

* Crysis Warhead – performance gains of up to 11% for ATI CrossFireX technology in dual configuration.
* Crysis – performance gains of up to 13% for ATI CrossFireX technology in dual configuration.
* World in Conflict – performance gains of up to 30% for high settings that were previously CPU limited with the ATI Radeon HD 4800 series.

  1. I like that they are sticking with the performance bullet points that matter on the more demanding games visually. Saying you gain 10% on COD4 does not mean what it once did, but gaining 11-13% on the Crysis games is a pretty big deal. Even in with a nice Crossfire rig, sliders turned up and high res, it may be just enough to get some gamers over that magic 60 fps hump because of how demanding those titles are. Will have to get em loaded tonight.
