Yesterday Google added free SMS messaging features to their chat interface, saying they’ve finally “ironed out the bugs” in the new feature. You might recall that this is a feature that has been promised numerous times before.

While the text message you send from chat is free, your friend may still get charged the outlandish $.15 US for sending that message to them. This is another awesome add-on from the Google Labs people; it can be accessed from the Labs link at the top of your Gmail account.
