Intel chipset drivers for Windows 7 have arrived

windows7UPDATE 10/29/2009 3:04 AM EDT: Significantly newer Intel chipset drivers for Windows 7 have been released. They can be found here.

During our wild west exploits with Windows 7 we’ve often lamented the dearth chipset drivers that are compatible with our P35-based board. With a little elbow grease and a lot of Google, we’ve finally uncovered a set that does the trick!

Courtesy of Station Drivers, this January 26 edition of Intel’s INF Update Utility uses version number 9.1.0.1013 and features WHQL certification. You may notice that this is several versions ahead of the June 6, 2008 v9.0.0.1008 driver that Intel still promotes for boards employing any chipset between p965 and X58. The following operating systems are supported:

Windows XP family
Windows Server 2003 family
Windows Vista family
Windows Server 2008 family
Windows 7 family
