Hopefully not too many female-challenged iPhone users have been relying on the “Amp up before you score” app for tips on the ladies, because Pepsi has discontinued it.

Pepsi and its Amp brand came under fire last week for the iPhone app designed promote Amp energy drinks. The app gave men tips on how to pick up different types ladies, and then allowed them to publish a “brag list” to a variety of different social media sites which detailed their conquests.

The app was criticized for being stereotypical, spurring Pepsi and Amp to offer an apology. At the time, the app was still available download in the App Store, but now, Pepsi has made the decision to remove it altogether.

“We have decided to discontinue the AMP iPhone application. We’ve listened to a variety of audiences and determined this was the most appropriate course of action,” Pepsi said.

  1. How could they have ever thought that app was a good idea? Did somebody use a Jedi mind trick to tell the executive in charge "this will not come under fire from feminists" ?

On an unrelated note, you're two posts away from 1337.

  2. That is bull crap, people need to learn to lighten up. How else are you going to learn the correct way to pick up the married woman? I seriously think this is BS from attention whores, god activist groups are worse than kids on the internet.
