On our first day of the show we met up with Bobbie Munoz who graciously showed us several products from their 2009 lineup. They were primarily demoing their commitment to enthusiast memory, flash drives and NAND-based devices this year and they’ve got some cool products.
To start with, we saw their lineup of Netbook-sized SSDs which come in 0.85 inch and 1.0 inch ZIF form factors. The drives themselves aren’t terribly fast, but given the limitations of their size this is to be expected.

This SSD module is for the smallest of small netbooks.

For larget netbooks, or even small laptops. More capacity.
Flash drives
Look, we all know that flash drives are boring, but Super*Talent had some really great products coming out in this space. Foremost, they’re extremely inexpensive due to the price of NAND, and secondly they’re small.
They have numerous designs to appeal to virtually everyone, but the neat thing is that they’re shock-proof and water proof. Feel free to wash them, run them over with a car, drop kick ‘em, or whatever it is you do to abuse your flash drive.

Half the height of a stick of gum, these drives push the limits of small.
2.5″ SSDs
Super*Talent is also working on several SSDs for notebooks and desktops. We’re going to get review samples for these things really soon. They’re offering mid to high-end SSDs based on both MLC and SLC NAND cells, so you can choose between performance and capacity.
Memory
Super*Talent has Nehalem-ready DDR3-2000 6GB kits. Another product we’re expecting to get in the labs, these diminutive modules should be ready to roll very soon.
All in all we were very happy with what we saw coming out of Super*Talent. They look like a company that’s looking to crack the tough US market nut, and they’re going to do it with a compelling variety of products. Keep an eye on these guys.
